Lani Misalucha says she’s home to ‘rest voice’
BAGUIO CITY—What prompted Lani Misalucha to return home despite a steady stream of shows abroad?
“I need to rest my voice,” she told reporters here last week. “Performing various acts, singing different and oftentimes challenging songs five days a week is no joke. It takes a toll on my voice.”
Misalucha expressed fear of losing her voice, which gave her a career and comfortable life in the United States with her husband and two daughters.
She was in Baguio for a November 22 concert at the University of Baguio. The show was part of her Philippine tour; it featured guest artists Jed Madela and Journey frontman Arnel Pineda.
“My voice has been strained because I had a show every day in the US for many years,” said Misalucha, who has performed for Baguio crowds at least five times since the 1990s.

Misalucha is also busy promoting her 12-track, all-Filipino album for Star Records. This is her way of honoring her roots and supporting Original Pilipino Music, she said.
