‘Magkakabaung’ wins in Hanoi

Jason Paul Laxamana’s “Magkakabaung (The Coffin Maker)” on Thursday won the Netpac Prize/Best Asian Film, and the Kapampangan-language movie’s star Allen Dizon, Best Actor, at the Third Hanoi (Vietnam) International Film Festival. Filipino filmmaker Peque Gallaga, a jury member, told the Inquirer that both wins were “unanimous decisions” and noted that Dizon bested Hollywood’s Ralph Fiennes (“Two Women”). Bayani San Diego Jr.
