Cristine Reyes says she experienced bleeding during ‘critical’ first trimester

MANILA, Philippines — Actress Cristine Reyes deferred from immediately revealing her pregnancy to the public after experiencing bleeding during the first trimester of her pregnancy.

She said that she decided to finally announce her pregnancy after ensuring the safety of her baby.

“I am in this stage where I am 100 percent sure that my baby and I are safe. I made sure na safe kami. Noong first three months na akala ng lahat na nagtatago ako, critical po ang stage ko. Advice ng doctor, bed rest muna because nagkaroon ako ng bleeding. Kailangan kong alagaan ang sarili ko,” Reyes said in a televised interview Sunday.

She also added that her pregnancy was planned and that she was “excited” to become a mother.

The 25-year-old actress is in a relationship with 30-year-old Ali Khatibi, a professional mixed-martial arts fighter.

Actress Ara Mina, Reyes’ sister, is also pregnant and is due to give birth on December.

Reyes revealed her pregnancy after performing a song number in the ABS-CBN variety show ASAP 19.
