MANILA, Philippines – Describing it as a “nasty” “parting gift,” a friend of Maegan Aguilar posted online photos of the singer wearing a neck brace and sitting on a stretcher after allegedly being beaten up by her live-in partner.

Rapper Maria Silorio posted the photos on Facebook with the caption, “My bestfriend  Maegan Comet Aguilar  received this nasty beating as a ‘parting gift’ from her live-in partner when she firmly tried to end their relationship today.”

“Ali’s an alcoholic that often reaches a violent black out state & beats up my friend & threatens her life,” she added.

Silorio explained that it was not the first time that this happened. However, the singer did not want the public to know that she was a battered partner.

The friend explained that the recent incident, which happened Saturday 2:45 a.m., resulted in a dislocated right arm. She said Aguilar’s back and hips were badly bruised when she was manhandled by her long-time partner, Ali Sanchez.

The post was shared by Aguilar in her Facebook account.

Aguilar, who recently won the Philippine Blues Society (PBS) Blues Competition with her band Glass Cherry Breakers, made headlines earlier this year when she got into a fight with her father, folk musician Freddie Aguilar.
