After last month’s successful screening of “Banaue,” the Society of Filipino Archivists for Film (Sofia) presents another Gerardo de Leon classic, “Ang Bagong Maestra.”
The 1954 film top-bills Erlinda Cortes as a teacher assigned to a far-flung town. The free screening will be held Saturday, 4 p.m., at the Tanghalang Manuel Conde of the Cultural Center of the Philippines. The screening is part of the yearlong commemoration of the centennial of De Leon, National Artist for Film. Bayani San Diego Jr.
