Accompanied by her relatives and lawyers, the model had a brief dialogue with Director General Alan Purisima, PNP chief, ‎in his office.

Cornejo was brought to the PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) for booking.

Senior Superintendent Roberto Fajardo, CIDG-National Capital Region chief, said in a phone interview that Cornejo and her family had sent surrender feelers “two weeks ago.”

He said Cornejo was then fetched by CIDG-NCR personnel “somewhere in Metro Manila” earlier Monday.

Cornejo – along with businessman Cedric Lee, Simeon Palma and several others – is charged with serious illegal detention, a nonbailable offense in connection with the Jan. 22 mauling of Navarro at a rented condominium unit of Cornejo in Taguig City.
