MANILA, Philippines — Danny Pudi, star of the hit comedy series “Community” is in Manila.
The 35-year-old Pudi plays the quirky Abed Nadir, a student of Greendale who is fascinated with television and pop culture and is part of a study group which the show ‘Community’ revolves in.
In the show, he has popularized the catchphrase “Cool. Cool, cool, cool.”
He also recently appeared in the movie Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which opened on cinemas this week, as a S.H.I.E.L.D. employee.
Pudi attended the Philippine Cable Television Association (PCTA) convention 2014 at the SMX Convention Center where Fox International hosted a luncheon.
In a post last March 25, Fox Philippines said that it was bringing in Pudi, and gave “super fans” a chance to meet the American actor through a contest.
Local comedian Ramon Bautista posted a photo with Pudi on his Instagram account on Wednesday.
“You’re not the Marco Polo of bullying me. You’re just another tourist taking pictures of a great big wall!” – Abed. Hey look it’s the guy from Community. Danny Pudi <3,” Bautista’s post read.
Fans of “Community” and Abed Nadir were thrilled about Pudi’s stay here in Manila.
“Danny Pudi in Manila! My heart <3,” said Twitter user @sabcalayan.
“My husband, 5yo kid and I soooo wanna catch a glimpse of you. She’s an Abed fan, too,” user @aryanneLu said, tagging @dannypudi.
