Escudero surprised over ‘unexpected’ kiss to Heart Evangelista on TV

MANILA, Philippines – It was a “surprise,” “unexpected” lips-to-lips kiss done on television, Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero said of his rare televised show of affection for girlfriend, actress Heart Evangelista.
“Nakantyawan ho ako dun at nakakahiya namang umatras at baka sabahing ayaw ko at ako pa yung maartenng hindi gusto yun,” said Escudero, 44, said in a radio interview on Wednesday when asked about their kiss in a TV show over the weekend.
“But I was actually surprised and I didn’t expect that we would be doing it,” said Escudero in Filipino.
But the kiss, the senator said in jest, was done in “good faith.”
“In good faith because my eyes were closed,” said Escudero.
Turning serious, Escudero reiterated that he has not proposed yet to Evangelista and that while they were discussing about marriage, he said there were no definite date and details yet.
But like any person, the senator admitted that he would also like to grow old with someone.
“Who wants to grow old alone?” he said followed by a hearty laugh.
Even his young twins , Escudero said, approved of his relationship with Evangelista.
“My kids have been for her a long time ago . . . they even sometimes push me, teasing,” he said.
Escudero’s marriage with ex-wife, Christine was annulled in 2012.
