MANILA, Philippines—The camp of Vhong Navarro is eyeing a string of criminal complaints against those reportedly involved in the mauling incident Wednesday evening, his lawyer told reporters Monday.
Atty. Dennis Manalo, lawyer for Vhong Navarro met with Justice Secretary Leila De Lima to ask for partial investigation with the National Bureau of Investigation.
“There was an allegation from Mr. Vhong Navarro of the commission of serious physical injuries, commission of threats to his life as well as to his family, extortion of money from him up to P2 million, there was deprivation of his liberty. He was hogtied and his mouth was gagged, there was evidence that he was blindfolded. So all these things taken together we will consider when we file the appropriate complaint,” Manalo said.
Manalo said among those eyed to be included in the complaint are Cedric Lee, a certain Mike, Vernice Lee, Deniece Cornejo and about 4 to 5 John Does.
Manalo, together with Navarro’s manager Chito Roño, met with Justice Secretary Leila De Lima on Monday and sought assistance for an impartial investigation.
During the meeting, Navarro’s camp said the police was not able to properly cordon the crime scene.
“The condominium unit is a crime scene. I am going to ask the NBI to investigate this. They need to process the scene of the incident and see if it has been contaminated,” De Lima told reporters.
