MANILA, Philippines – Five security guards of a condominium in Taguig City where actor-host Vhong Navarro was beaten up appeared at the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Monday morning, media reports said.
Deniece Cornejo, the woman who allegedly invited Navarro to her condominium unit before the incident happened, was also expected to appear before the NBI and give her side of the story.
Navarro denied Sunday that he raped Cornejo. Instead, he claimed that he was a victim of an extortion plot.
The actor said Cedric Lee and his group threatened to kill him and harm his family if he did not pay them at least P1 million.
Navarro was inside Cornejo’s condominium unit on January 22 when Lee and the other men allegedly held him at gunpoint and started beating him up. They also took a video of the actor admitting that he raped his friend.
Navarro was later brought to a police precinct where he was forced to sign a blotter that said he attempted to rape Cornejo.
The actor is currently confined in an undisclosed hospital because of his injuries.
