As someone who’s part of the K-pop industry herself, Chanty of Lapillus is proud of her labelmates HORI7ON and New:ID who are carving their own paths in the music industry.
Chanty, who remains a member of the K-pop girl group, told INQUIRER.net on the sidelines of the Preview Ball that seeing HORI7ON and New:ID is proof that Filipinos can keep up with the international music scene.
“I feel so proud of them. Siyempre kasi (Of course), as someone who trained in South Korea and experienced the international scene, I’m happy to see a lot of Filipinos aspiring to go international as well,” she said of both groups.
“‘Yung makita ko na kaya ng mga Pinoy na [makipagsabayan] sa training and style ng ibang bansa (Seeing fellow Pinoys keeping up with the training and style of other countries), I’m happy for them,” she continued.

Both hailing from the survival show “Dream Maker,” HORI7ON is introduced as a seven-member global pop group that aims to bridge the gap between the Philippines and South Korea.
New:ID, on the other hand, debuted as a P-pop group in July 2024. The boy group is made up of Thad, Macky, L, Wilson, and Jom.
On her acting career
Chanty started her entertainment career as an actress in 2018. But since her activities with Lapillus are put on hold, she will make her acting comeback in “Maka.”
“So far, naka-isang taping pa lang ako. Masaya (I’ve taped one scene so far. It was nice),” she said, at the time of the interview earlier this month.
She admitted that getting back into acting feels “awkward,” but she hoped that audiences would enjoy her performance in the teen drama.
“It’s been a long time since I had an acting project so it feels kind of awkward, but I’m getting there,” she said. “‘Yung ma-enjoy ng mga tao ang show namin. ’Yun ang first priority (I hope people enjoy the show, it’s my first priority). I just want to enjoy the experience of acting, getting into it, and learning more.”
Joining Chanty in “Maka” are Romnick Sarmenta, Maricar De Mesa, Sharmain Arnaiz, Zephanie, Marco Masa, Ashley Sarmiento, Dylan Menor, Sean Lucas, John Clifford, Olive May, and May Ann Basa.
