Jessica Sanchez sings ‘Ikaw’ as crowd swoons

Jessica Sanchez

MANILA, Philippines — American Idol season 11 runner-up Jessica Sanchez received a standing ovation when she sang her own version of the song “Ikaw” before a jampacked crowd at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City on Thursday night.

The song “Ikaw” was popularized by megastar Sharon Cuneta.

Sanchez, who was clad in a sexy gown, made the crowd go wilder when she belted out her version of Whitney Houston’s  “I will always love you”.

Sanchez then sang a song she dedicated to her dad, “Dance with my father.”

“I dedicate this song to my dad. I wish he was here,” she said.

Among those who watched Sanchez’s concert were former Chief Justice Renato Corona and wife, and former Pagcor chairman Efraim Genuino.

if you say that jessica is pppppppppwwwweeeehhhhh kadiri eeeeeeeewwww, WHAT DOES THAT MAKE YOU? You with NO talent, NO looks, NO followers, NO money, NO significance, NO glamour, NO fans…. despicable!!!

      • Cherrie

Intindihin na lang ang ganyang mga tao; they earn a living praising other singers while trying to destroy their competition.

    • Mamerto

Diepor & Echuserang_Froglet…,are both “dirty-birds, with the same feathers”

      • Diepor

        Another karaoke hater?

Suffering souls…, probably having sleep-less nights.

      • Diepor

Is there something negative about karaoke, singing songs others made to playback music can be very entertaining.

It’s ironic that this ‘journalist’ mentioned the Coronas and Genuino but she failed to mention another AI finalist, Colton Dixon who performed with Jessica in that concert.

    • Rosauro

Di niya kilala. Local nga siya e. Ikaw naman.

    • Noel

Agree.  Why mention crooks like Corona and Genuino?  What’s the big deal?

    • Mamerto

But failed to mention other attending “law-abiding” government officials, present and past.

    • Bring back Phils Glory. Unite.

  • NoWorryBHappy

The ‘journalist’ also chose a cheap, overused and tiring photo of Jessica.
She looks like the zombie lead role in the Japanese horror film ‘Ringu’.

  • Bong

Maila Ager, bakit sinama mo pa yong tatlo (corona’t genuino) ka level mo ba sila? Dios ko day, next time pag gagawa ka ng write-up haba haba-an mo naman at para interesting… anyway, siguro di ka inspired kahapon dahil ála kang val-date.

you guys who are posting very nasty comments here about Jessica Sanchez, are actually, indirectly destroying Charice’s career. You have to remember that her Manager made a mistakes with that comments, and it affected Charice ever since. Although Charice is a very rich girl, ( if you Google Charice Pampengko net worth, she is $16 million girl) her manager should not be too confident, her silly comment will still affect Charice’s good image, if not financially.

highly intellectual individuals, should notice the difference how David Foster and Charice manager handled the situation. David Foster saw it as another big talent that can be promoted; he invited Jessica to sing to one of the Charity that he and George Clooney are supporting. Charice manager on the other hand, saw it as a threat and a competition to Charice.

What we were actually expecting for Charice and those celebrities whom we supported when they came abroad for thier own concert, was for them to welcome Jessica, because it was their best chance to give back; as this is a pinay daughter from abroad who is now a celebrity as well.bigayan lang diba? just give and take…ika nga

Filipinos abroad are fans of every celebrities from Philippines, we loved them so much! to serenade us. Most of them would come back here few times, and we never get tired of them, We think all of them are really amazing! and they deserved to be seen and heard worldwide. Before their arrival, Pinoys here were crazy selling ticket for their concert, publishing in all Pinoy newspapers about their concert, telephoning and emailing everybody we know to make sure no Pinoy will miss the event. Why? because we appreciate them coming to serenade all the hard working Pinoys here, we want them to go home to Philippines with grand success! and we want them to come back. Ask all those celebrities who went abroad for concert, and they will tell how they were treated like prince and princesses. When Charice came to tour North America and came to Toronto, Pilipinos were just crazy about her! Actually about 10,000 Pinoys went to see her, but not all can be accepted as the place was already full. Many Pinoy waited for her from 10:00 AM, but she arrived 4PM, so most of us skipped work. And you know what? we Pinoys here would do our best to even persuade people of other nationality to have a look at this exceptionally talented girl and buy her album. why? simply because we were proud of her.

who are we to judge and throw stones on anybody? sometimes, those that we think are so perfect and innocents will surprise us when secret revealed.

If you can pray this “Lord, have mercy on me, a sinner” in any situation, at any time and place, either aloud or silently.  this is so powerful that it will stop you from judging people, instead you will carry on loving and appreciating people around you.
