Maine Mendoza says unfollowing Alden Richards on Instagram an accident

Fans of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza, as well as their love team AlDub, panicked when Mendoza’s Instagram account showed that she had unfollowed Richards.
Fans felt hurt for Richards, with some saying Mendoza was seeking attention or that the action was something personal.

Tension could have been high as Mendoza penned an open letter where she stated that she and Richards were not romantically involved.

Mendoza’s fans also rushed to her defense, with some saying that they were willing to give her the benefit of the doubt as no one knew the full story.

But just before a full-on fan war could break out, Mendoza apologized and said it had just been a simple case of a wrong click.

“No bad blood here,” she tweeted and included a gif of her as the endearing YayaDub.
Aside from sighs of relief, others joked that she must have been “stalking” Richards’ profile and accidentally pressed the wrong button.
