Comedian-actress Joy Viado succumbs to heart attack

Comedian-actress Joy Viado, 51, died of heart attack on Saturday night, her son Joseph Christopher confirmed in a radio interview.

“She died at exactly 8:55 last night at the Quezon City General Hospital. The doctors tried to revive her but to no avail,” Joseph Christopher said in an interview on DZMM around 12:55 am Sunday.

He said his mother came home after visiting a friend. He said she complained of having difficulty in breathing. They decided to bring her to the nearest hospital.

He said Joy was confined last year due to diabetes and other complications. It was also last year when she celebrated her golden (50) age.

Joseph said the interment will be at Arlington Memorial Chapels on Araneta Avenue, Quezon City.  He said her fans could visit starting Sunday afternoon.

She had acted in “Sisterakas,” “Who’s That Girl?”, “Da Possessed,” “The Trial,” and many other commercial movies. She was also part of variuos sitcoms and and soap operas in ABS-CBN, GMA7 and TV5.
