Park Bom dropped a shocking claim against her 2NE1 bandmate Sandara Park, saying she was used as a scapegoat to cover up the latter’s alleged drug abuse.

Bom addressed her followers through a handwritten letter in a now-deleted Instagram post on Tuesday, March 3, looking back at her past case where she was accused of importing an illegal drug in South Korea.

In 2010, the singer allegedly imported 82 Adderall pills, a medication containing amphetamine and dextroamphetamine used to treat ADHD and narcolepsy. Since the drug is highly regulated in South Korea, the authorities have investigated her case. She then claimed that it is used for medical treatment, dropping the case without any charges. The incident, however, made headlines four years later.

“This is Park Bom. I’m writing to share the truth with you. Have you all been well? I am not sick and am working hard to live well. I’m about to talk about something sensitive and frightening,” she began via a Koreaboo translation.

“I am being cautious in case it causes uproar, but the medication Adderall, which is labeled as a psychotropic drug, weighs on my mind. I really didn’t want to bring it up again,” she continued.

Bom then claimed that Adderall was meant to treat her Attention Deficit Disorder, while tagging Sandara as someone who allegedly used drugs. As a result, the “You and I” singer was supposedly to be turned into a scapegoat for her bandmate’s case.

The K-pop idol, however, didn’t name who forced her into becoming a cover-up. “It is not a druggie. I am an ADD patient, something called Attention Deficit Disorder. Sandara Park was caught for drug abuse, and to cover that up, they turned the medication into something labeled as a drug scandal involving me,” she said.

“At the time, there wasn’t even a specific medication system or law in this country regarding Adderall. Strangely, after [me], a law was created,” she further explained.

Bom added that making such claims might “ruin [her] reputation” and “make her soul cry,” but she eventually “gathered the courage to speak.” She also urged the public to “investigate the facts,” while calling the attention of YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun-suk and 2NE1’s leader CL to not report her to authorities again.

“To the citizens online, I sincerely ask that you please investigate the facts as they are. And lastly, what I truly want to say is this: YG Entertainment, Yang Hyun-suk, Teddy Park, and Lee Chae-rin [CL], please do not report to the authorities that [I] used more than the prescribed amount of a drug that you yourselves have not used even once in 30 years,” she said.

“I am writing this because it feels like my soul is crying. Thank you for reading,” she continued.

Bom’s letter has since been taken down from Instagram, as of this writing. However, netizens have since reuploaded it on social media.

According to OSEN, a source close to Bom said the letter was “written out of [her] unstable condition,” and asked the public for understanding.

“We became aware of the content just a moment ago. As you know, this occurred due to Park Bom’s unstable health condition. We ask for your understanding,” they said.

Sandara has yet to respond to Bom’s claims, as of this writing.

Bom and Dara debuted as members of 2NE1, a four-piece K-pop girl group that eventually became one of the biggest acts in South Korea. The former is the quartet’s main vocalist, while the latter is the visual and vocalist.

The “I Don’t Care” singers reunited at the 2022 Coachella Festival and embarked on the “Welcome Back” Asia tour two years later.
