Karla Estrada defends daughter Lella’s spot in ‘PBB’ ultimate 8

Karla Estrada came to the defense of her daughter, Carmela “Lella” Ford, following an online debate over the latter’s inclusion in the “Ultimate 8” of “Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition 2.”
In a Facebook post on Saturday, Feb. 28, Estrada called for fairness for her daughter amid divided opinions from viewers about who deserved to advance to the final roster of housemates competing in the show’s upcoming Big Night.
“I understand that everyone has their own interpretation of what happened, and emotions really run high when we talk about something we all care about. But I also hope we can be fair to Lella,” Estrada wrote.
The celebrity mother pointed out that when Lella was first nominated inside the house, her daughter did not publicly question the process or react strongly.
“When Lella was first nominated, there were no loud defenses, no long explanations, no big reactions. She accepted it quietly and continued to fight her battles with grace. She never questioned anyone’s worth or capacity publicly. She focused on doing her best and letting her actions speak for her,” she said.
Estrada also reminded viewers that the environment inside the “PBB” house is different from what audiences see on television.
“We also have to remember that inside the house, emotions are intense, pressure is real, and opinions are formed in very different circumstances than what we see outside. Having an opinion about performance or deserving a spot doesn’t automatically mean there is hidden animosity,” she added.
Estrada urged fans to avoid personal attacks and instead foster respectful discussions about all the housemates.
“Healthy discussion is okay. Personal attacks are not. Let’s choose understanding over judgment. At the end of the day, they all worked hard, they all sacrificed, and they all deserve respect,” she said.
The “Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition 2” has named its final eight housemates who advanced after a series of nominations, public votes and challenges. They are composed of Lella, Joaquin Arce, Krystal Mejes, Caprice Cayetano, Heath Jornales, Princess Aliyah, Miguel Vegara and Ashley Sarmiento. From this group, the Big Winner will be determined on Friday night.
Meanwhile, Arce was earlier defended by her stepmother, actress Angel Locsin, after the former was labeled as a “nepo baby” amid his journey inside the “PBB” house. /ra
