Nadine Lustre, Alden Richards pair up in new series ‘Love, Siargao’

Nadine Lustre and Alden Richards are joining forces in the new series “Love, Siargao,” set to be released in the second quarter of the year.

Lustre and Richards’ team-up was announced by Viu Philippines in a press statement, marking their first time to work together in a project. They will also be joined by Choi Bo-min, a South Korean actor and former member of the K-pop group Golden Child.

The 26-episode series tells the story of Jao (Richards) and Kara (Lustre) hit by the “Siargao curse,” a local myth which prohibits visitors from ever leaving the island or be cursed to “lose their heart to love.” 

On Jao and Kara, they are hit with “different versions” of the curse, eventually bringing them to the “highs and lows of a modern romance that [will] forever change their destiny.”

According to the streaming service, “Love, Siargao” will also be a love letter to the tourist destination, which highlights its “breathtaking beaches, vibrant food scene, unique Filipino experiences, and the warmth of Filipino culture.”

Details on the series are yet to be announced.

The past year was an eventful one for Richards, as he juggled being an actor, filmmaker, and co-producer. One of his notable projects in 2025 was “Out of Order” which premiered at the Da Nang Film Festival in Vietnam. 

The “Hello, Love, Again” star is also set to take on his first villain role in “Big Tiger,” an international film which he also co-produced.

Meanwhile, Lustre was one of the lead stars in the 2025 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry “Call Me Mother,” in which she received a Best Actress nomination. She was also one of the panelists in the TV show “Masked Singer Pilipinas” season three. /edv
