Camille Prats said she immediately apologized to Kim Atienza after her “Paboritong Mars” meme in a “TiktoClock” episode went viral, as it took place at the time of his daughter’s death.

A clip of Prats looking performance-ready in an episode of “TiktoClock” went viral last November, where she was introduced as the show’s “Paboritong Mars (favorite friend).” What made the episode meme-worthy was that her face was shown right after a tribute to Kim’s late daughter, Emman.

Explaining her side of the story in the Dec. 24 episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” the actress said she was supposed to be a guest co-host. It was also the first appearance of Atienza in the noontime show after Emman’s death.

“I didn’t know ano ‘yung pinanggalingan ng programa, that it was actually the first live show they had after what happened to Kuya Kim, so I wasn’t aware of that,” she recalled.

“Alam ko lang is that I’m guesting. I was gonna dance, so I was busy memorizing my steps. I didn’t bother to check the script, where the show was coming from, and then that afternoon, nagulat na lang ako na I was all over social media,” she continued.

Prats said she immediately said sorry to Kim for the meme, which the latter took in stride.

“Hindi ko alam ano ‘yung na-feel niya eh, and siyempre I’m grateful that he took it lightly because he’s always been that way. I’m so grateful for that, but I felt that it was, you know, gets ko talaga. So I apologized to him,” she said. “What’s important is he’s fine, he’s okay, he’s happy, we’re okay. I’m glad I’m able to make a lot of people happy, too.”

Kim also addressed the viral meme in an episode of the talk show last November, referring to Prats as the “Pambansang  (national) Dopamine.”

“Natawa ako. Natanggal ‘yung lungkot ko. Very effective si Camille Prats sa akin. Talagang ‘pag nakikita ko, hanggang ngayon natatawa pa rin ako. Siya na ang Pambansang Dopamine. The Dopamine of Asia,” he said of Prats.

Emmanuelle Atienza, daughter of Kim, died on Oct. 24. She was 19.
