Dennis Padilla greets Claudia Barretto on 26th birthday in deleted post

Months after Dennis Padilla‘s controversial outburst at the wedding of his daughter Claudia Barretto, the actor finally broke the ice with his estranged children by greeting her on her 26th birthday.

The now deleted post in Instagram showed a picture of Padilla with Claudia when she was younger, with the message, “Happiiii bday Claui… God bless you more (emojis).”

It’s unknown when the actor took down the post, but screenshots of his greeting have already made rounds of social media.

It is unknown whether Padilla has mended his relationship with his children with Marjorie Barretto since Claudia’s wedding and the events that followed.

Last April, Padilla made headlines after claiming he was treated shabbily at Claudia’s wedding to Basti Lorenzo, saying rather than being treated with honor as the “father of the bride,” nor was he even a part of the entourage, he claimed to have been made to feel like a visitor, with not even a proper seat assigned for him and his companions — his mother Catalina and brother, comic actor Gene Padilla.

The supposed shabby treatment prompted Padilla to declare in an interview that he would end his ties with his children for good.

Aside from Claudia, he also has two more children with Marjorie — Julia and Leon Barretto, who have both expressed their support for the newlyweds on their respective social media platforms.

In an April 11 interview, Marjorie revealed that Claudia initially didn’t want to invite Dennis to her wedding since they had been estranged for quite some time. However, their daughter eventually asked him to be part of her special day on the condition that he would not share any detail of the wedding on social media.

Claudia also supposedly did not make a promise to give him a part in her bridal walk to the altar, as she planned to walk down the aisle on her own. Marjorie said she did not intervene with Claudia with that decision.

The actress-politician further called out at her ex-husband for making a spectacle of what was supposed to be a solemn and happy occasion. /edv
