After previously opening up about the autism condition of their only daughter Rocket, celebrity couple Troy Montero and Aubrey Miles shared some updates on their child’s progress.
Montero penned an appreciation post for his daughter as he shared that Rocket achieved great progress after months of treatment, including undergoing a stem cell therapy.
“This little girl, my one and only daughter,” he began. “She is an absolute sweetheart and Daddy’s girl […] When she was younger, she was non-verbal, made no eye contact, flapped her hands, walked on her tiptoes, lined up her toys, and occasionally had tantrums on the floor.”
“At three years old, she was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. A month later, we started her in Speech and Occupational Therapy. She has since undergone Stem Cell Therapy, with her third treatment just last week,” the actor added.

According to Mayo Clinic, stem cell therapy is a medical treatment that “uses stem cells, which are special types of cells in the body, to repair or regenerate damaged tissues.”
In the case of autism, stem cell therapy is considered “experimental and is being studied for its potential to improve symptoms or brain function.”
The celebrity dad showed how happy he is for the progress that Rocket has made, including slight changes in her verbal communication and growing self-awareness.
“After her first session, we noticed a big change. She began making eye contact and speaking more. Today, I wouldn’t consider her non-verbal, though her casual conversations are mostly two- to three-word sentences. The best sound? Hearing her say, ‘I love you.’” he shared.
“Another beautiful change is her growing self-awareness. She now expresses emotions more clearly, has a sense of humor, and even a mischievous side. She looks at her reflection in the mirror, something she never did before,” continued the actor.

Montero also said Rocket is consistent in attending her speech and occupational therapy sessions.
“Rocket is now six years old and attends school with five to six classmates. Her teacher recently shared that she has become a class leader, helping her classmates with their activities,” he shared.
“As the youngest in our family of five, she is undoubtedly the star of our home. We love her endlessly and will always be here to support her,” concluded the celebrity dad.
Montero and Miles tied the knot in 2022 after 18 years of being together.
Aside from Rocket, the pair also have an older son, Hunter. Miles also has another son named Maurice from a previous relationship.
