Alex Gonzaga declared that her body is in a much better condition to conceive, after several failed pregnancies with  husband, Lipa City Councilor Mikee Morada.

At a press conference, Gonzaga shared that she previously went through another in vitro fertilization (IVF) and lymphocyte immunization therapy (LIT) procedure, to prepare herself for pregnancy.

The actress-internet personality also shared that she was informed that there was something wrong with her thyroglobulin, a type of protein produced by the thyroid gland, which in turn, affected her ability to conceive a child.

“I tried IVF. Before, I [was] doing LIT, it’s a blood transfusion method where it can be seen whether a woman’s reproductive immunity is high… I have difficulty being pregnant and it could be because of that. When we first tried it, our doctor said my blood levels and immunity levels did not elevate, making me prime for another pregnancy,” she said.

IVF is a fertilization process where a woman’s egg cell is combined with a man’s sperm in a lab. On the other hand, LIT involves the isolation of a man’s white blood cell to be injected into the skin of the mother.

“By God’s grace, my last test yielded positive results so I can get pregnant any time. Right now, it’s positive, it’s 60% okay so that could be any time,” continued Gonzaga, noting how having a healthier lifestyle and drinking herbal tea helped in her condition.

Stop with the ‘baog’ remarks

When asked if she still gets bothered by bashers, Gonzaga said she doesn’t get hurt by negative comments anymore, although she pointed out that the “baog (or barren)” remarks made against her and her fellow women should be put to rest.

“We do people say the word ‘barren’ very loosely? We really have to be sensitive about it. I dont get hurt by it any more but I can see others are not, and are very sensitive with that issue. We have to be careful in using that word in light of the inner struggles of women,” she said.

Without disclosing the details, Gonzaga briefly recalled a time she sought the help of a lawyer upon receiving a “baog” remark from a basher online.

She said she has already forgiven the basher, and decided to no longer file a case, but only after that person issued an apology.

Gonzaga suffered from miscarriages in 2021 and 2023. Despite this, she remained hopeful and shared that she’s preparing her body again for another attempt to be pregnant in February 2024.
