NCT Dream’s Renjun, will return to his promotional activities after going on a six-month hiatus due to health concerns.

South Korean music label SM Entertainment announced Renjun’s return in a statement on the fan platform Weverse on Monday, October 7.

“Hello, this is SM Entertainment. We want to update you on NCT member Renjun’s health and his return to activities. Due to health reasons, Renjun has been participating in activities on a flexible basis. However, he has made significant progress thanks to proper treatment and rest,” the label said, per a Soompi translation.

Among the things considered in Renjun resuming his activities were his “eagerness to return” and “medical team’s advice.”

“After discussions and considering Renjun’s eagerness to return as well as the medical team’s advice, we announce that he can safely resume activities. He will officially return following this announcement,” said SM.

The music label also thanked the singer’s fans for the “encouragement” he received during his break from the spotlight.

“We appreciate the fans for their warm support and encouragement during Renjun’s recovery. SM Entertainment is committed to ensuring he can participate in activities in good health,” it said.

Renjun went on a temporary hiatus in April 2024 due to health concerns. Among the activities he missed was the Philippines’ leg of NCT Dream’s “The Dream Show: Dream()scape” last August.

Born Huang Renjun, the Chinese singer debuted as the main vocalist and lead dancer of NCT Dream, a sub-unit of NCT (Neo Culture Technology), in August 2016. He also made his debut as a member of NCT U in October 2020.

NCT is a K-pop boy group formed by SM Entertainment consisting of 25 members. It is divided into six sub-units, NCT U, NCT 127, NCT Dream, WayV, NCT DoJaeJung, and NCT Wish.
