Ronnie Lazaro wins top acting honor at Sinag Maynila Gabi ng Parangal

Veteran actor Ronnie Lazaro and actress Rebecca Chuaunsu brought home the Best Actor and Best Actress, respectively, at the Gabi ng Parangal of the 2024 Sinag Maynila Independent Film Festival, on Sunday, Sept. 8 at The Manila Metropolitan Theater.

Meanwhile, “Her Locket” emerged as the biggest winner of the night, as the family drama-centered film bagged a total of seven awards including Best Film, Best Director, Best Actress, and Best Supporting Actress. The film tells the story of Jewel Ouyang, the daughter of a wealthy Chinese businessman, who lost everything after suffering from dementia.

The sixth edition of Sinag Maynila celebrated the brightest names of this year’s iteration, after a four-year hiatus due to the pandemic.
