Suga, lead rapper of K-pop powerhouse BTS, said he is ready to face the disciplinary measures that will be imposed upon him, days after facing authorities in Seoul’s Yongsan district wherein he drove an electric scooter under the influence of alcohol.

In a handwritten letter on Weverse on Sunday, August 25, Suga — whose real name is Min Yoon-gi — once again apologized for being unable to “repay the love” he received from his fans while addressing the recent incident.

“It is with a shameful heart that I apologize once again to you all. I apologize very deeply for having disappointed and hurt my fans and everyone who loves me through my wrongdoings,” he said via a Soompi translation.

“I forgot my responsibility to repay the love I’ve received up until now by behaving in a manner fitting [to] that love, and I made a grave mistake,” continued Suga.

In his letter posted last August 7, the rapper said he “should have thought more deeply” before penning the particular apology.

“On the night of August 6, I made the mistake of riding an electric scooter on the sidewalk after drinking. I also apologize for causing a great deal of confusion through my first apology that I hastily posted on August 7. I should have thought more deeply and carefully, but I failed to do so,” he said.

Suga promised he would make an effort to ensure the incident won’t happen again, saying it “left a large blemish on the precious memories” he made with his bandmates and fans.

“Everything is my fault. Due to my carelessness, everyone who cares about me is going through a difficult time. I will live my life reflecting and making efforts not to commit such wrongdoings again,” he said.

“Through this incident, I have left a large blemish on the precious memories that I made together with my [fellow BTS] members and our fans, and I have tarnished BTS’s name. I feel so painfully sorry for having caused damage to the other members and our group that it is difficult to express,” he further added.

The “Daechwita” rapper also stated that he’s “deeply reflecting” on his actions while reiterating his apology to his co-members of BTS and supporters.

“I’m sorry that the [BTS] members, who always believed in me, are suffering because of me. And I’m all too aware of the disappointment that the fans who supported and cheered me on must have felt,” he said. “I deeply [regret] my actions and [reflecting] each and every day with a heavy heart.”

Suga, who faced police investigation over the incident last August 23, said he would accept the “disciplinary measures” that will be imposed as a consequence of his actions.

“I will accept not only the disciplinary measures that will be decided [by the authorities] in the future but also any criticism or rebuke. Finally, I once again bow my head and sincerely apologize for causing controversy and disappointing many people,” he said.
