“It Ends with Us” has officially released its first full trailer, delighting fans who have been long waiting for the popular Colleen Hoover book adaptation to hit their screen.
On Thursday, May 17, Sony Pictures unveiled the trailer showcasing Blake Lively in the lead role as Lily Bloom, a woman who falls for neurosurgeon Ryle Kincaid (Justin Baldoni). But their relationship takes an abusive turn and shakes the lives of the main characters.
“We break the pattern, or the pattern breaks us,” Lively says in the trailer, as the audience gets a glimpse at the dramatic love triangle that would spur the story.
Despite Lily’s love for Ryle, her first love, Atlas Corrigan (Brandon Sklenar), returns to the picture, pushing her to come up with an “impossible” choice that would test her strength and values in life and love.
“We all have an idea of what love can be: that special connection you feel, that first kiss,” Lively’s Lily expressed. “But 15 seconds—that’s all it takes to completely change everything.”

“The topic itself isn’t the problem; I think it’s more about how it was marketed as “spicy romance” and not a nuanced story about an experience many women have gone through,” one said on X.
“It’s not that the book was bad; it’s the fact people kept selling it as a romance when it really isn’t romantic in the slightest,” another netizen said.
The book gained massive attention on TikTok, increasing the hype for the movie adaptation.
“It Ends with Us” opens in Philippine cinemas on Aug. 7.
