After the comedian-host’s video went viral, netizens caught Harake’s “laro” comment, which they perceived as “thoughtless,” given Vice Ganda’s video did not just show the wonders and beauties of the Philippines but, more importantly, the relevant issues the country faces, such as the traffic, bad transportation system, and jeepney phaseout, among others.

“Not at Zeinab commenting on Vice Ganda’s entry “laro” when in fact it is something we need to be serious about. I don’t hate Zeinab but can “influencers” be AN INFLUENCER? kasi sayang platform niyo kailangan ng mga pilipino gumising sa reyalidad bago ang eleksyon!!!” remarked one netizen.

“Laro” is an internet slang that pertains to something being not taken seriously, like being treated as a playtime. It is also a term used when turning something into a laughing matter or a meme.

Meanwhile, aside from the netizens, many Filipino celebrities have praised the comedian and expressed their admiration for Vice Ganda’s unique and honest approach to the “Piliin Mo ang Pilipinas” video challenge.
