Carla Abellana admits being starstruck by Bea Alonzo
Even though Carla Abellana and Bea Alonzo have already started shooting for their upcoming series “Widows’ War,” Abellana still hasn’t gotten over being starstruck with her co-star, singing high praises for the latter’s work ethic and acting prowess.
Abellana told reporters on the sidelines of an awards event that working with Alonzo was a “wish come true,” saying that she’s even willing to take any role as long as she could work with the her.
“My goodness! Dream ko ‘yun. It’s a wish of mine na nagkatotoo. Kahit ano mang role ‘yan, as long as maka-work ko si Bea, more than happy na ako,” she said. “But to work alongside her, tapos ‘yung characters namin ay best friends turned enemies, even more exciting. Lagi akong nasa-starstruck kapag nakaka-eksena ko siya.”

The actress said Alonzo “takes her role seriously,” including her preparation for the character and even writing her script.

Touching on the series, Abellana kept her lips sealed on the details of the plot while noting that it follows a “mysterious” storyline.
“I’m also trying to be as open-minded as possible because our script is very secretive and mysterious. We don’t know what’s going to happen and I’m excited about it,” she said.
Abellana and Alonzo’s new project was announced on GMA’s omnibus trailer for the year, with the story conference taking place in January 2024. A premiere date for the Zig Dulay-helmed series is yet to be announced.
