Anne Hathaway reveals she suffered miscarriage in the past
For the first time, Hollywood star Anne Hathaway opened up about the miscarriage she had in 2015, which she said utterly “broke her heart.”
On the latest cover of Vanity Fair, the “Devil Wears Prada” actress recalled the time she was doing the Broadway show “Grounded” and said it was “hard” to play someone who’s giving birth every night after her failed pregnancy at the time.
“The first time [being pregnant] didn’t work out for me. I was doing a play and I had to give birth on stage every night. It was too much to keep it in when I was on stage pretending everything was fine. I had to keep it real otherwise,” she said.
The “Princess Diaries” star remarked that when she discovered that miscarriages are common, she realized that she needed to talk about her experience regardless of how painful it was.
“So I decided that I was going to talk about it. The thing that broke my heart, blew my mind, and gave me hope was that for three years after, almost daily, a woman came up to me in tears and I would just hold her, because she was carrying this [pain] around and suddenly it wasn’t all hers anymore,” stated the actress.

I see you and I’ve been you. It’s really hard to want something so much and to wonder if you’re doing something wrong,” she said.
Hathaway now has two sons with her husband of 12 years, Adam Shulman.
