TWS eyes global dominance less than a month after debut
TWS, a six-member boy group under Pledis Entertainment, is set to dominate the global music scene after signing with Universal Music Group’s subsidiary labels in US and Japan.
Pledis and HYBE announced in an official statement that TWS had signed with Geffen Records for group activities in the US, while they will be under the helm of Virgin Music in Japan.
The milestone came less than a month after the boy group debuted with their first mini-album “Sparkling Blue” on Jan. 22.
“TWS has been dubbed ‘the rookie of 2024’ in the K-pop scene since before their debut. Confirming the anticipated excitement, the act’s TikTok content amassed over 100 million cumulative views in less than two weeks after their debut, a month after their very first post,” Pledis said.
Pledis’ first boy group in 9 years
TWS – consisting of Shinyu, Dohoon, Youngjae, Hanjin, Jihoon, and Kyungmin – aims to establish their identity as artists with a penchant for “Boyhood Pop.” Per the label, their group name is an abbreviation of “Twenty Four Seven with Us.”

One of the sextet’s goals in their career is to deliver a “sense of sentimentality and beauty” into everyday life through their music.
TWS is Pledis’ first boy group after nine years since their brother group Seventeen. Since the lattermost unit’s debut in 2015, they established themselves as one of the leading K-pop acts today.
