It’s been a while since Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano have been seen together in public, fueling speculations that they have broken up. For now, a picture of Gil with the “LizQuen” portrait in ABS-CBN’s gallery of stars will do.

Ranvel Rufino, Enrique’s manager, posted the photo on his Instagram Stories showing him and Gil standing next to the LizQuen photo. Rufino, however, deleted the original photo and replaced it with a full-shot one.

LizQuen was one of the network’s reliable love teams with four hit movies and four highly-rated TV series under their belt. Soberano left the network two years ago to pursue a solo career and try her luck in Hollywood. Her debut Hollywood film, “Lisa Frankenstein,” will be shown domestically on Feb. 7.

FEATURED STORIES

In line with his own solo career, Gil is playing an unconventional role unlike the usual roles he has played in his more recent movies: that of a 30-something-year-old virgin on a trip to Thailand with his friends where he is mistaken as an adult film star. The raunchy adventure comedy by renowned director Victor Villanueva and script by Palanca Award winner Lilit Reyes and Joma Labayen was shot mostly in Pattaya and Bangkok.

Their last work together was in another series “Make It With You” in 2020 which was later canceled due to the pandemic. The last time that both of them worked in a movie was in “Alone/Together” in 2019.

“Lisa Frankenstein” and “I Am Not Big Bird” serve as their big-screen acting comeback as individual artists.
