Count on Pia Wurtzbach to personalize her Christmas gifts to loved ones
Pia Wurtzbach has been a life peg for many. She still enjoys significant screentime eight years since becoming Miss Universe, snagging endorsement deals left-and-right, and making appearances in international events. She is also happily married to a dreamboat of a husband, Jeremy Jauncey. But despite all the professional and personal success, she said she still finds joy in the simple things.
“It’s not that hard to make me happy. I appreciate the little things,” Wurtzbach told INQUIRER.net in an interview at the sidelines of her launch as ambassador for a marketing brand.
“You will never go wrong if you give me makeup. I feel like I always need it. Even if I already have a lot of red lipsticks and lip gloss, I still get giddy when I receive one. So, anything fashion and beauty,” she shared.
Also a confessed gaming afficionado, Wurtzbach said she loves getting gadgets and gaming stuff, too. “I geek out on tech things. And I share some of the things that I’m interested in online, so I don’t think I’m a difficult person to give gifts to, hopefully not. I hope I don’t have that impression to my friends,” she continued.
The beauty queen, and now author of the best-selling novel “Queen of the Universe,” said she also appreciates receiving gifts she knows have been wrapped personally by the person giving them. “I feel like it’s part of the thoughtfulness of gift giving,” she said.

Are they homebodies, are they fitness geeks, are they into fashion, are they into beauty? Nothing makes me happier than seeing my gifts being used,” she shared.

To prevent this from happening, Wurtzbach says she drops hints to see if a person is into something. “If they mentioned something that they like, a color or a little thing, I use that as a reference,” she added.
And for those in a really tight spot, Wurtzbach said it is okay to ask the friends or partners of the person you want to give a gift to, “so you don’t have to guess, and you won’t get the wrong item.” But she reminded the people not to get caught asking, or preempting your gift to the would-be recipient.
As for this holiday season, Wurtzbach said she is really planning on taking a break. “I say that a lot, but I usually still take a ‘working break.’ Even if I’m not in the studio, and I’m not at events, I’m still planning, working, doing stuff online,” she said.
She said that she will spend the holidays with her husband overseas. “I will be in a corner at home, do not disturb, I will be on my console playing games,” she shared.
