The Corrs take Filipino fans on a nostalgic ’90s journey in their comeback concert
Say it’s true, there’s no concert quite like ‘The Corrs’!
22 years later, The Corrs made a long-awaited return to the Manila stage, delighting fans with a two-night performance on October 21 and 22, 2023, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The band, composed of Andrea, Jim, Caroline, and Sharon Corr, began their first show with the 1997 hit track, “Only When I Sleep.” The opening act felt like a time machine to the late ’90s, evoking a strong sense of nostalgia.
As the night continued, The Corrs kept the hits coming, serenading the audience with classics like “Give Me a Reason” and “Summer Sunshine.”
What really touched the audience was Andrea Corr’s heartfelt greeting in Filipino: “Magandang gabi, masaya kaming makabalik dito [Good evening, we’re happy to be back here].”
Andrea continued, expressing the band’s deep appreciation for the warm welcome they received after over two decades. “It’s been quite a while, over 20 years? We really wanted to come back from that last gig because the welcome you gave us was unforgettable. So it finally happened,” she said.
The Corrs’ performance was a delightful mix of their timeless classics such as “Don’t Say You Love Me,” “Radio,” “What Can I Do?,” “Little Lies,” “Queen of Hollywood,” “So Young,” and “I Never Loved You Anyway.”
The band concluded the concert with a bang by performing iconic hits such as “Runaway” and “Breathless,” with the crowd passionately singing along.
For many in the audience, the concert wasn’t merely a musical performance; it was indeed a journey back in time.
The Corrs Live in Manila concert was made possible by PULP.
