Liza Soberano’s camp reiterated that the actress is in solidarity with SAG-AFTRA (Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists) members and their ongoing strike, hence she has been “quiet” about her Hollywood acting career and has been “exploring opportunities” in South Korea.

The actress’ earlier release of her 15-episode series “Liza in Korea” drew attention from netizens, with some chiming in with their negative remarks on her new project.

Bandera, the tabloid website of INQUIRER.net, then made a report on the mixed reactions of netizens, which evidently did not sit well with Soberano.

What type of journalism is this?” the actress wrote on her X (formerly Twitter) page, tagging the handle of Bandera and INQUIRER.net, which shared the post on the platform. “You guys are straight up sh*tting on a young woman’s dreams in the pursuit of clicks and comments. Don’t you guys have more important news to talk about?”

The Bandera team has since spoken to Soberano’s PR manager and publicist, Chuck Gomez, who stressed that the actress is a member of SAG-AFTRA and that her career being “on pause” was due to the Hollywood strike.

“Kaya habang naka-strike ang lahat, she did the Liza in Korea YouTube series dahil maganda naman ang project at aminin naman natin na love ng mga Pinoy ang Korea,” said Gomez, who expressed hopes that Filipinos would also support the actress’ “Liza in Korea” series as it is also an international project.

(So while everyone is on strike, Liza did the “Liza in Korea” YouTube series since it is a good project and also because we, Filipinos, love Korea.)

Meanwhile, it is worth noting that prior to Bandera’s report, INQUIRER.net also released on its platform a Philippine Daily Inquirer story on Soberano, which reflects the actress’ sentiments on the matter.  /ra
