Stars look back on 2022
Jodi Sta. Maria
My 2022 has been so blissful. I wouldn’t say life had always been easy this year, but trying to look at it in a different perspective makes everything worth it. There were a lot of lessons gleaned. The Lord has been so good to me that I have no more reason to complain. There were times in the past when, I realized only now, that I have more complaints than reasons to thank Him for. 2022 is such a wonderful year not only for me but for my family. Everyone is healthy—I think that’s the most important thing. That my loved ones are healthy both physically and mentally.

2022 was definitely a difficult year for most people. It was quite emotionally and mentally stressful in many aspects, be it the socio-political situation or our day-to-day well-being.
We somewhat felt some positivity in the seeming winding down of the COVID-19 pandemic, although we know it isn’t over yet.
On the cinema front, it has been very difficult to sense any serious recovery, in spite of seeing some active productions. I’ve always criticized the MMFF (Metro Manila Film Festival) as an institution, but my earnest wish is for the festival to be successful in its return because this would show that theatrical exhibition is welcome again for our audiences. —MARINEL CRUZ INQ
