Chai Fonacier, Eva Green film ‘Nocebo’ to premiere in PH in January
Moviegoers may want to look out for the Filipino-Irish psychological thriller film “Nocebo” starring Eva Green and “Patay na si Hesus” actress Chai Fonacier, as it is set to make its way to Philippine cinemas in January.
TBA Studios, the production company behind “Heneral Luna” and “Goyo,” revealed it has acquired theatrical distribution rights for “Nocebo” by showing the trailer for the film on its YouTube channel yesterday, Dec. 16. The movie will be shown in local cinemas on Jan. 18, 2023.
“Nocebo” follows fashion designer Christine (Green) who suffers from a mysterious illness that confounds doctors and frustrates her husband Felix, played by British actor Mark Strong. However, Filipino nanny Diana (Fonacier) suddenly arrives and uses her knowledge in traditional folk healing to reveal a “horrifying truth.”
“Nocebo,” which is set in London and Manila, was written by Garret Shanley and directed by Lorcan Finnegan. It first premiered in theaters last Nov. 4 and on video on demand last Nov. 22.
