Ai-Ai delas Alas sets up baking business in California
Ai-Ai delas Alas is about to treat some fans in the United States to baked goods as she set up her own baking business, Martina’s, in San Francisco, California.
The comedian revealed this by donning a chef’s uniform and showing off baked treats on her Instagram page yesterday, July 11.
“Martina’s sa San Francisco. Hello mga kababayans and Kapuso, friends and kapitbahay. Game na ulit ang ube pandesal at milk buns,” she said. “‘Yan muna dahil baka hindi kayanin ng katawang lupa ko.”
(Martina’s in San Francisco. Hello fellow Filipinos and Kapuso, friends and neighbors. Ube pandesal and milk buns are back again. That is all [I will offer] for now because I might not be able to manage.)
Martina’s is based in Union City at the San Francisco Bay Area, as per Delas Alas’ Instagram post, also yesterday.

Delas Alas started her baking business from her Quezon City home back in April 2020, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. She appeared to have halted operations around August last year, even as community quarantine restrictions were lifted.
It can be recalled that in November 2021, Delas Alas graduated from a baking program at Treston International College’s Academy of Pastry and Culinary Arts. At the time, she admitted feeling like she was “going crazy,” but the classes helped manage her anxiety. /ra
