WATCH: Ivana Alawi surprises mom, sister with their own house
Ivana Alawi brought her mother and sister to tears when she surprised them with their own house through another emotional prank.
The actress-vlogger pulled a prank on her mother Fatima Alawi and sister Mona Alawi at the home built on a lot she bought years ago, as shown on Ivana’s YouTube channel yesterday, Feb. 25.
At the time, Ivana told her family that the lot would be the site for her own home and did not tell them that the property actually belongs to them.
“Alam niyo naman na bago ako magbigay ng isang bagay, gusto ko magpaiyak ng tao at i-prank kasi that’s me,” she joked. (You all know that before I give something, I want to make people cry and prank them because that’s me.)
The prank started with Ivana and her family filming a tour of the home for the actress’ vlog. Ivana’s accomplices, an attorney and a woman who acted as the “real owner” of the house, then came looking for Ivana outside the home while claiming that the lot was “sold” by the actress four years ago.

Ivana’s mother and sister eventually cried upon realizing that they now have a house of their own.

Hindi ko naman pwedeng ibigay sa’yo nang lupa lang so dapat may bahay,” Ivana said to her mother after the prank. (Mom chose the lot. She said the lot was great. I can’t just give you a lot so it should have a house.)
Ivana told fans that she had been dreaming of giving her family their own home since she was young and that it had been the inspiration in her work through the years.
“Pinaghandaan ko ‘to for how many years, ever since I was five years old. Noong five years old ako, naalala ko sinasabihan ko si mama, ‘Ma, kapag ako nagka-pera pagtanda ko, ikaw ‘yung una kong bibilhan ng bahay,'” she recounted.
(I’ve been preparing for this for how many years, ever since I was five years old. When I was five years old, I remember telling mama, “Ma, if I have money when I grow up, you’re the first one for whom I would buy a house.”)
Ivana then noted that Mona has been very supportive of her YouTube career.
“Kung bakit ako na’ndito sa YouTube, it’s because of her (Mona). She’s so supportive ever since saka never siya humingi ng kahit ano,” she added. (Why I’m here on YouTube, it’s because of her. She’s so supportive ever since and she never asked me for anything.)
Ivana’s prank comes weeks since she launched her own skincare brand, which was two years in the making.
The actress also earned more than 15 million subscribers on YouTube last Thursday, Feb. 24. She previously hit 10 million subscribers in 2020, just after around 14 months on the platform. /ra
