“Sobrang nag-enjoy kami sa Cebu pero napagod din pala ako. Pag-uwi sa bahay, naramdaman ko ang sobrang pagod (We really enjoyed our stay in Cebu, but I didn’t realize that I got tired. When I got home, I felt extreme tiredness.),” she said.

At the time, Quigaman wanted to be left alone by her children, who were being “clingy” after their trip. She also noted that she first had back pains, chills and a fever while taking care of her kids.

Quigaman experienced the symptoms for two days before she was rushed to the hospital where she got isolated until she received a negative COVID-19 test result.

“I felt guilty for wanting to rest,” Quigaman admitted while showing a photo of her medical bracelet. “I got what I wished for, but it was horrible. I was in pain and shivering and alone.”

She was hospitalized for three days before she was permitted by a doctor to go home. She described her first two nights in the hospital as “horrible,” but quipped that she ended up drooling in her sleep on her third day.

Quigaman then revealed that she suffered from acute pyelonephritis, which is a kind of bacterial infection in the renal pelvis and kidney.

“[I had] acute pyelonephritis. I was given antibiotics via IV,” she explained while showing a photo of herself lying in bed. “Now getting better. Thank You, Jesus!”

For Quigaman, her hospitalization was a reminder to take care of oneself and to rest if needed. She assured fans that she is doing fine after getting discharged.

“Okay na ako (I’m okay). Will remember to rest and take it easy, and to ask for and accept help,” she said while showing a photo of her children. She also reminded the public that it is all right to rest if they need to.

“The world can and will go on while we rest. God holds everything in His Hands,” she stressed.
