Ice Seguerra laments first time spending Christmas without dad: ‘It’s different now’
Ice Seguerra expressed his sorrow for having to spend Christmas without his father for the first time, as he reminds others to cherish their family while they still can.
The actor-musician remembered the late Decoroso “Dick” Seguerra as he celebrated Christmas with his family, noting that “it’s different now,” as seen on his Instagram page yesterday, Christmas Eve.
“First time to spend Christmas without my dad.
(Since I was a kid until now, no Christmas went by without us all being together. There are many happy Christmases, but there were also sad ones. But it was okay because we were all together. Up until I got married and had my own family, we still cannot have our Noche Buena without our family being complete.)
“But it’s different now. I know, kasama namin siya but I miss him,” he added. (To be honest, I thought he was going to make it until Christmas. But that did not happen. I know he is here with us but I miss him.)

Miss ko siya,” the doting son said.
(I miss his crisp 20-peso bills. How he sang on the videoke. I even miss when he was just asleep on the couch while waiting for Noche Buena. I miss him.)
“Totoo pala yun, no? It’s never the same. And it will never be the same. Laging may kulang, kahit ano pa [ang] gawin mo para punuan yun,” Seguerra added.
(It really is true, isn’t it? It’s never the same. And it will never be the same. We will always be incomplete, no matter how you try to fill that void.)
The singer then advised the public to “cherish who you have in your life,” noting that Christmas is really about “parents and family.”
Merry Christmas,” Seguerra stressed. (They are Christmas. Not the gifts or anything else. Merry Christmas.)
Seguerra’s father, whom the musician said was his influence for his love for singing, passed away only last month, on Nov. 15, as shared by Seguerra and his family. JB
