MANILA, Philippines — Adding to the list of events that the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic has interrupted, celebrity and women’s rights advocate Angel Locsin shared that she would have been wed on Sunday, November 8, if not for the health crisis.

Locsin shared on her Instagram page that she and fiance Neil Arce have planned to tie the knot on the said date. However, the pandemic had other plans.

“So, we were supposed to get married today Nov 8, 2020,” she said, including a ring emoji to caption a photo of her and Arce.

Sponsors in the wedding include actress and host Kris Aquino and Senator Panfilo Lacson — who recently admitted being relieved that military officials have cleared his soon-to-be goddaughter from links with communist groups.

Locsin recently attracted controversy after she got dragged into the issue between Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Southern Luzon Command chief Lt. Gen. Antonio Parlade Jr. and celebrity Liza Soberano.

Soberano was advised by Parlade not to affiliate herself with the Gabriela Women’s Party-list, which Locsin also supports. Parlade told Soberano that Locsin will never tell them about the alleged membership of her sister Ella Colmenares in the communist New People’s Army.

Parlade’s statements drew flak for allegedly “mansplaining” things to the women he mentioned.
