Ogie Alcasid’s dad passes away

MANILA, Philippines —  OPM Singer Ogie Alcasid announced Tuesday morning that his father, Hermino Alcasid Sr., has passed away.

“I will miss you so much Dad. My heart grieves knowing you are gone but i am at peace because you are in the loving arms of our Father in heaven. I love you so much Daddy,” he said in an Instagram post.

He did not mention the reason for the death of his dad as of posting time.

Alcasid Sr. who was a lawyer, sat as president and chief executive officer of the Philippine National Oil Development and Management Corporation following his appointment by former President Benigno Aquino III.

Fellow celebrities of Ogie in the music and entertainment industry expressed condolences to the singer.

“So sorry to hear this. My deepest condolences,” read a comment from Concert Queen Pops Fernandez.

“Sorry to hear about your loss. My deepest condolences, @ogiealcasid and @reginevalcasid,” said Zsazsa Padilla.

“Prayers to you and your whole family. May your dad Rest In Peace,” wrote actor and Ormoc City Mayor Richard Gomez.

Other prominent personalities such as Marvin Agustin, Gloc-9, Marjorie Barretto, Daniel Matsunaga and broadcaster Bernadette Sembrano-Aguinaldo also extended condolences for Ogie.
