LJ Moreno, Jimmy Alapag lose 4th baby to miscarriage: ‘The pregnancy stopped’

LJ Moreno and her husband, Jimmy Alapag, revealed that she had suffered a miscarriage around six weeks into her pregnancy.

The former actress and Alab Pilipinas head coach spoke about the loss of their fourth baby in a vlog post on their YouTube channel last Wednesday, Sept. 9.

They learned about the miscarriage during one of Moreno’s appointments with a doctor last week. Moreno explained that they were supposed to be able to hear the baby’s heartbeat during that checkup, but were unable to find one.

Despite the lack of a heartbeat, the doctor first told Moreno that it might be due to it being too early into her pregnancy or because of a myoma, a benign tumor, in her uterus.

Following the said appointment, the couple scheduled another, hoping to hear the baby’s heartbeat by then. When they were still unable to hear it, the doctor stated that there was a possibility that Moreno had suffered a miscarriage already.

The doctor also noted that it might be due to antibodies they found in her thyroid, which Moreno said were not good to have when one is pregnant. Despite this, the doctor gave Moreno progesterone and more medication, hoping to have better results in the next meeting.

However, in the following appointment, the doctor finally declared that Moreno had suffered a miscarriage.

“They called it a miscarriage because I didn’t bleed at first, but then the pregnancy stopped, the baby stopped,” Moreno recalled.

Though it was “not easy news” for the couple to hear, Alapag stated that they have “absolute faith” in God’s plan for them as a married couple and as a family.

“As disappointing as it is, my biggest concern was making sure that LJ is ok, and having to tell the kids,” he added.

When they finally told their children about the loss, their eldest son Ian suddenly broke down. While it was difficult to explain it to him, the parents are certain that Ian is doing better now.

As they ended their vlog, Alapag encouraged parents in their 30s and 40s to go for annual checkups to stay healthy for their families.

He also reiterated their trust in God, especially after their loss.

“In God’s time, if He feels it’s right for us to have an addition to our family than it will happen again,” Alapag said.

Along with Ian, Moreno and Alapag have two more children, Keona and Calen.  /ra
