MANILA, Philippines — As the world race against time to find a vaccine that can help stop the further spread of coronavirus, economies around the world, including in the Philippines, are adapting to health protocols that would help minimize the transmission of COVID-19, but despite all of these, another problem arises–the deadly downward turn in terms of profitability and sustainability of various businesses.

One such industry that is deeply impacted by the ill economic effects of COVID-19 is the country’s Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), considered as “the backbone” of the economy, which also affected thousands of jobs generated by these enterprises.
