Lady Gaga to drop ‘Chromatica’ album on May 29

Pop royalty Lady Gaga announced that her highly anticipated “Chromatica” album will be available for streaming starting May 29.

Gaga’s sixth studio album features collaborations with fellow high-caliber artists including pop star Ariana Grande, K-pop girl group Blackpink and legendary British singer-songwriter Elton John. Gaga confirmed its release date via Instagram yesterday, May 7.

Gaga also showed the official tracklist of “Chromatica” through her Instagram account on April 23.

Included in the 16 songs from the album is “Rain on Me,” featuring Grande. “Sour Candy” is the title of Gaga’s track with Blackpink, while “Sine from Above” features John.

Last February, Gaga dropped the music video for “Stupid Love,” in anticipation of the album’s release.

The pop singer previously postponed the launching of her sixth album since it did not “feel like the right time” to do so amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Before its May 29 release date, “Chromatica” was scheduled to be out in public on April 10.

While the album was put on hold, the singer had been busy helping with COVID-19 relief efforts. Gaga, together with the advocacy group Global Citizen, raised over $35 million for the benefit of the World Health Organization.

The monetary donations Gaga helped collect will be used for health workers’ protective gear, improvement of lab capacities and further research on the development of a vaccine for the new virus.  /ra
