FEATURED STORIES

A video compilation of the artists reading aloud from their own homes was posted by Yuzon on Instagram Tuesday, April 7.

It began with each actor removing their masks, before going into a heartfelt recitation of the poem, which is as follows:

“Ngingitian kita kahit maingat,
Kahit may social distance, kahit may kaba,

Ngingitian kita.

“Ngingitian kita dahil baka katulad kita

O kaibigan. O anak. O magulang.
O kaagapay. O kapwa.

“Hindi man tumabla kapag ipinagsama-sama’y
Baka maging halos kasing-halaga
Ng kalahating-yakap man lang;
Kaya’t ngingitian kita at ngingitian kita,
At ngingitian kita.”

Morales, who also shared the video on Instagram said, “Sa susunod na lumabas ka para mamili ng supplies, o pag may dumaan sa may bahay niyo, ngitian niyo din sila. Salamat, frontliners. Kita namin kayo.”

(The next time you go out to get supplies, or if someone passes by your house, give them a smile. Thank you frontliners. We see you.)
