Menggie Cobarrubias’s wife in hospital after late actor tests positive for COVID-19

MANILA, Philippines—Menggie Cobarrubias’s wife has been hospitalized after being informed that her late husband was positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The veteran screen and stage actor, 66, passed away last March 26 from pneumonia complications.

Gina Jorge Cobarrubias “submitted to voluntary hospitalization” after they received her husband’s results on Monday, March 30, her son Gino Cobarrubias told INQUIRER.net. She has also taken a COVID-19 test.

Prior to being confined, her son said she had a cough and a sore throat. She was first admitted to New Era General Hospital in Quezon City.

On Tuesday morning, she exhibited pneumonia symptoms and received treatment for her condition. She has since been transferred to Rizal Medical Center in Pasig City.

The couple was together for about 30 years, Gina said on Facebook after his passing.
