Beauty-pageant endorsement from Pia, Catriona flattering for Liza

“I honestly don’t see it in my career path,” said Liza Soberano of the prospect of joining beauty pageants in the future.On separate occasions, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach and Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray said Liza would be a strong contender if ever she decides to become a beauty contestant in the future.

“It’s flattering, knowing that it came from them,” said the 22-year-old actress. “I don’t want to say I’m closing the doors to this possibility completely. It’s just that I’m very passionate about my acting and being a beauty queen takes time. I’d have to prepare physically. I’d have to perfect my walk. And since I’m no beauty queen, this requires a lot of training.”

Liza’s real and reel-life partner, Enrique Gil, put in his two cents’ worth. “She doesn’t feel it inside her. I also don’t think it’s for everyone. It really depends on her. She’s beautiful, so she will be considered a threat.”—MARINEL CRUZ INQ
