Neri Naig donates food, calls for prayers amid Taal Volcano ashfall
Neri Naig donated food from her own cafe and bakeshop to help those affected by the ashfall caused by Taal Volcano’s phreatic or steam-driven eruption last Sunday, Jan. 12.
Naig, who owns various properties in Cavite City, first assured her followers that she and her family were safe from the eruption, before thanking those who helped them get to safety, as seen in her Instagram post yesterday, Jan. 13.

She then informed those affected by the eruption that the town of Alfonso serves as a center for evacuation, as per Leslie Ann Uy Salamat, the wife of Mayor Randy Salamat.
Helping out in her own way, Naig donated all of the food and bread from the cafe and bakeshop she owns. However, she intends to extend more help, and is set to donate clothes soon.

“May mga sanggol pa po, nagbebreastfeed pa ang iba,” she noted.
(There are also babies, some of whom are still breastfeeding.)
Naig appealed to her followers to not think about how to earn money or how to sell to those in need. Instead, she called for prayers amid the ashfall.
“Dasal po tayo para sa kaligtasan ng lahat,” she urged her followers. “Ingat po kayong lahat.”
(Let us all pray for everyone’s safety. Take care, everyone.) /ra
