LOOK: Pia Wurtzbach flaunts bare face, encourages self-love
Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach showed off her bare face to remind her fans and followers, “Life’s too short to be unkind to yourself.”
The beauty queen shared her face sans her usual glamorous look on Instagram yesterday, Nov. 9, after being nominated to join the #AsSheIs challenge by Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters. The challenge encourages women to post an unfiltered photo of themselves online with “a caption that displays a side of yourself not typically shown online.”
“Everyday, we all struggle to be comfortable with our imperfections,” Wurtzbach said.

“But today, I’m taking this picture to say hello to ME. Just me. No makeup. No glam team. No styling,” she added. “And, I’m happy with what I see.”
She then reminded her followers that life is “too short to be unkind to yourself” and appealed to them to treat their faces and bodies “as an instrument, not an ornament.”
“An instrument to inspire, uplift and encourage yourself and others who need it,” the beauty queen stated.
Wurtzbach nominated her “sisters” Miss Universe 2016 Iris Mittenaere and Miss Universe Philippines 2019 Gazini Ganados to also take part in the challenge.
Aside from Wurtzbach, Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray has also joined the challenge last Thursday, Nov. 7. Gray also encouraged self-love, stating that “[l]oving yourself as you are is a journey, but it’s a journey worth taking.” JB
