Blockbuster ‘Kita Kita’ film gets Indonesian remake

MANILA, Philippines — Filipino blockbuster film “Kita Kita” will have an Indonesian remake, its director announced on Sunday.

On Instagram, director Sigrid Bernardo posted a short clip of what was supposed to be the Indonesian remake of Kita Kita titled “Cintu Itu Buta (Love is Blind)”

“Ugh.. got teary eyed on this. Congratulations team #KitaKita and #CintuItuButa (@cintaitubutaofficial)! Can’t wait to watch this Indonesian remake shot in Busan, Korea!” Bernardo said.

Cintu Itu Buta will be showing in Indonesian cinemas starting October 10.

Kita Kita was a Filipino film featuring Alessandra de Rossi and Empoy Marquez back in 2017.

It earned more than P300 million and has been dubbed as the most successful independently produced Filipino film. /je
